For those of you who might be interested here's and article describing M$ filesystems including some speculation on WinFS (Windows Future Storage).
A primer on FAT and NTFS and some speculation that WinFS is RDBMS based and sort of mumbles about separating the hierarchy of the data from the physical storage on the devices...
