Surgical Lamps to Use LEDs

Sounds like the lamp will use bright white LEDs that are 100% cold and have a 50,000 hour bulb life.

Last 25 times longer that halogen and use 1/3 of the power.

I'm guessing that these things will replace bulbs/lamps as we consumers know them too!

Sun's new H-series line of microprocessors will debut in 2005 with one variant expected to offer the equivalent of a 32-way symmetric multiprocessor on a chip.

15 times the performance at lower cost and power usage.

Due out in 2005.

It seems that the 'K' root server is switching to the Name Server Daemon (NSD) from BIND.

See if it reduces your complexity.

Better yet, maybe you can avoid the continuous stream of BIND bugs that seems to come along!

I wonder if this idea could be used put a solar powered wireless access point up a couple hundred feet off the ground! I'll have to see if I can find someone in the wireless community to talk to about it! ;-}

Capture Writing from Pen to PC

Here's a handy tool from Seiko that will let you capture your writing and drawings, done on ordinary paper, directly to your PC!

Here's a hands-on review with some great pictures.

You can get it from outpost.com or Seiko for $100.

It's got a clip with IrDa receiver with USB or will talk IrDa to your Palm,
or other IR capable PC.

Looks pretty good to me!

Maybe the new backup strategy (for small groups anyway) is to get a big drive that connects via USB/Firewire.

You move it from machine to machine and do backups...
